Positive Solutions Creates Commercial Director Role
Positive Solutions today announces the appointment of Peter Coleman to the newly-created position of Commercial Director. In the new role Peter will identify new busi-ness opportunities for the firm and help drive sustainable and profitable growth. As Commercial Director he will have overall responsibility for the Finance and Marketing functions within Positive Solutions and will work with the existing leader-ship team to continue the development of the Positive Partnerships and Learning Academy initiatives.
A key part of Peter’s role will be to help Positive Solutions meet its ambitious plans for 2011 by successfully delivering initiatives announced at the recent Partner Forum and seeking further opportunities to develop the business. In January CEO Jim Reeve outlined a number of initiatives for 2011 designed to capitalise on the opportunities presented by the RDR. These include rolling out a bespoke ‘Evolution’ e-toolkit to help IFAs prepare for the RDR and Adviser Charging, plans to introduce a new Paraplanning service, an extension to Positive Solutions’ current ‘one size fits all’ business model and the roll out of the latest True Potential operating software and investment platform to IFA Partners.
A former Director of Burns-Anderson, Peter has considerable experience within the financial services sector of delivering profitable business growth. He delivered a 60% increase in gross turnover in Burns-Anderson between 2004 and 2007 and established its IFA arm. A qualified accountant, Peter has also held a number of senior roles in the accountancy field.
Peter’s appointment follows the appointment in September 2010 of James McCourt as Risk & Compliance Director, and recent re-structuring of other senior management roles within Positive Solutions. Peter joins Positive Solutions on 21 March and the appointment now completes Positive Solutions’ senior management team.
Jim Reeve, Positive Solutions CEO, says:
“Peter has considerable skills and a proven track record in delivering profitable growth and I’m delighted to welcome someone of his calibre to the team. I’m confident that his appointment to this new role, together with the other changes I’ve made to the senior management structure, give us the dynamic leadership needed to drive the business to success in the post-RDR world.
“Positive Solutions has a clear plan to seize the huge opportunities emerging from the Retail Distribution Review and develop the business. It’s vital we have the right leadership structure and team in place to make that happen.”
Commenting on his appointment, Peter Coleman, says:
“Positive Solutions has always had a strong reputation in the market and I’m de-lighted to be joining the firm when there so many opportunities on the horizon. I look forward to working with Jim and the rest of the team to help Positive Solutions achieve further success in the future.”
